‘Mindfulness, Compassion and Delight’: 4 weekly sessions for parents

First three sessions: Online via Zoom – Thursdays 7.30pm - 9pm: February 29th, March 7th and 14th.

Session Four: In person – Saturday March 16th, 10am - 1pm at Tarner Family Hub, Ivory Place Brighton BN2 9QE.

By donation on booking, from free to £40. We don’t ask for proof as we recognise that everyone’s circumstances are different.

We are offering these group sessions for parents. Our aim is to support, refresh, establish (or re-establish) your mindfulness and compassion practices in daily life, with some play and delight along the way.

Each session will include some short mindfulness practices with the aim for these to be incorporated within your daily life, and with the possibility to involve your children. Our evening sessions will be for adults, with children invited to our face-to-face morning, and both play and mindful activities will be provided for the children.

These sessions will explore how we can bring a meditative practice into the midst of ordinary life. This will include ways to establish mindful presence in relation to our children. We accept that there may be many challenges, as well as some joyful moments, along the way.

We will be taking inspiration from the Buddha’s noble eightfold path, and how this may apply in modern times, as a way to live engaged, ethically and with care for self and others. Some enquiry practices (in pairs and groups) will be included.

These sessions are intended to be inclusive and welcoming to all parents, particularly those of young children (babies, pre-school, primary aged).
