The Paramis are: generosity, morality, renunciation, discernment, energy, patience, truthfulness, resolve, kindness and equanimity and they all offer skillful ways of orienting within the complexities of life.
Rather than being swept along by events, overwhelm, worry, responsibilities and pressures, we can stem the tide by cultivating the Parami. In this way we strengthen, heal and refine the heart-mBind in the midst of our relationships, work, decision making and in charting our life’s course.
This day retreat will be an experiential exploration of the Parami (Perfections) of Resolve (Adhittana) and Kindness (Metta). Practicing relational meditation together, Insight Dialogue, we will investigate how these two Parami arise in the context of our lives. What role do they currently play? What are their potentials and how do they, might they, interact?
Insight Dialogue (ID) is a relational meditation practice, grounded in the wisdom tradition of the Buddha-Dharma.
In ID practice we extend the profound benefits of solitary meditation into being with others. We acknowledge the reality that we are social beings and engage with the complexity of being with others, as a potential path to freedom.
We meditate together, recognising and unbinding the relational knots that cause suffering in our lives. In ID practice we engage with the buddha's teachings experientially, accessing their relevance to our wider lives.
